Transparent Records Spring Newsletter
Dear Friend,
A few months have passed since the re-launch, and the label is
invigorated as ever. Thank you everybody for all of your support! Below
are some tidbits of news.
-Steve

~CDr series
Continues~
Our new limited edition CDr
series is working out well. The feedback and interest is mounting. We
are excited to have this as the core of the label's re-launch. For
those not familiar, the CDr series is a limited edition of 100 copies
for each title. The packaging utilizes 100% recycled materials
including natural walnut-inked handmade stamps created by stamp artist
Kim Jones (aka SugarSkull7). We even went so far as to find the
most eco-friendly CDr stock which utilizes 10% post-consumer material.
We plan to continue the series as long as we can. The current releases
available are: P.G. Six's "Live at VPRO Amsterdam" and United Bible
Studies' "A Shatner Observatory". Visit the CDr series section of the website to order.
Here is an updated list of upcoming releases in the
series:
The Kitchen Cynics
Ecotone (Tim Foljahn / Kirsten McCord )
Mountainhood
Psychic Frost
The Glass Trees
The Earthly Frames
Pothole Skinny
Jen Strickland
Fireworks Collage Project with Daniel Carter
We are also accepting pre-orders for the new
Mike Tamburo "Another View
of the Gate" CDr

Projects in the works ~
P.G. Six & Paul LaBrecque DVDr/CDr:
The planned
DVDr release of P.G. Six and Paul LaBrecque (Sunburned Hand of the Man)
is slowly coming to fruition. Besides releasing this as a DVD, we will
also be releasing a companion of the music on a 'black bottom' CDr. The
release features a live set recorded in March 2005 at Soundlab Buffalo,
NY. Watch the excerpt below.

The Earthly Frames, Volume 1 Device:
Each custom USB drive
contains five songs by The Earthly Frames in a high quality MP3 format
as well as samples (loop AIF files and RX2s) free for you to use in
your own music. In addition, each drive contains a unique "fragment"
file that tells the mysterious story of the origin of The
EarthlyFrames.Fragment files may be images, video, phone conversations,
power point, book excerpts - since those purchasing the devices are the
sole owner of this fragment file, sharing is strongly encouraged. The
devices are only available at Earthly Frames live performances and
through Perhaps Transparent. Only fifty Volume 1 devices have been
created.
Lathe Cut Records:
Perhaps Transparent recently
picked up a record cutter and plans on cutting some very small run
lathe cut records. After the machine is fine-tuned and ready to go, it
will be time to fine-tune our cutting skills. There is a lathe cut
series in the works which will include an additional accompanying
digital download. We also have a pile of blanks of various materials to
carve up, and a list of artists interested, so stay tuned. There will
be more details to follow.
